We offer Jewellery Valuation services as part of our service to our clients.

We also offer this service to new clients who would like a Valuation done on their old jewellery or estate items that need values determined in terms of dividing up the equity of estate owned items.

In order to perform this service, the item needs to be inspected and assessed in order to determine the current market value or insurance replacement value.

If you have recently purchased expensive jewellery it is important they have any new items covered on your insurance.
It is also a good time to stress the importance of having an up-to-date valuation for your jewellery, especially with the significant rises in the price of gold and diamonds. Should there be accidental loss or theft, you need to have an updated Valuation certificate which is no older than just under two years old.

A 0.95 carat diamond and platinum ring, valued in 2004 at R 48,000, has been re-valued at a staggering R 137,650 in 2018 which is a 187% increase.

Regular inspection of your personal jewellery items can also be performed at the same time to determine if there is any wear on your claw settings. Insurers are reluctant to pay out on claims for missing gemstones if jewellers cannot verify if the claws were regularly inspected for damage or wear.
